The State is closely working to promote the sector which would not only yield economic growth but also provide employment to the youth. In this regard, Punjab Infotech under the aegis of Government of Punjab has been devising a “Strategy and Action plan for the promotion of IT/ITeS Industry in Punjab”. The Corporation has appointed Ernst & Young for devising the Strategy and Action Plan and its implementation.

In order to attain efficiency of scale and improve the productivity the Corporation has undergone organizational restructuring with its activities being demarcated in four main divisions- Infrastructure Development, Investor Relation & Policy Advocacy, Human Capital Development and Support Management.

The Task Force is a 15-20 member group comprising of members from various State government department representatives and chaired by the Chief Secretary. The Task Force would deliberate on the key areas such as human resources, infrastructure, policy and investor relations.
The key objective of the Task Force is to drive decision making in Government and to translate the strategy proposed into action to be taken by relevant government departments.
The Task Force reviews the progress on initiatives being taken through an on-going monitoring and evaluation process to track action plan and implementation status. Agenda items of these meetings are based on deliberations conducted at meetings with Sub Committee of Task Force and with different government departments.
